Using Marianne’s technique, students created a 9 inch fairy figure by wiring the armature, adding foil, and adding clay to make a fully sculpted figure. A driftwood base was also provided for the fairy to sit on to create a fantasy setting. Students were taught basic fairy anatomy and by the end of two days had a fully sculpted, unbaked fairy, ready to take home and dress.
