Mother
Jean Bernard (CDAA)
Reno, Nevada, U.S.A. • www.bernard-dolls.com

Friday, April 28 – Saturday, April 29, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

“Mother” is wonderful mixed media piece with a cloth upper body and an Aves Apoxie® Sculpt lower body. Students received the “upper doll” cloth pattern, designed by Sherry Goshon, prior to class. In the workshop they embeded the cloth “upper doll” into their sculpted tree form using the Aves Apoxie® Sculpt, then sculpted children at play amongst the branches and tree trunk. Students then dressed, embellished and painted their piece. If fantasy, exploring and “thinking outside the box” sound exciting, then this is the class for you.

Art has been Jean Bernard’s passion since childhood but she only began sculpting “Art Dolls” in the mid-90’s and is now a full time polymer clay artist who loves to share her creativity and expertise with others in the art doll field. Jean introduced our 2005 students to the wonders of Aves Apoxie® Sculpt … to their absolute delight! Jean believes in giving her students the “tools” and turning them loose to follow their own vision and creative process. She treasures her time spent with fellow artists at conferences, conventions and shows. Jean’s work has been featured in many publications.
