Faces 03HDW
Arley Berryhill Henderson, Nevada, U.S.A. - www.arleyberryhill.com
Thursday, May 10 - 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This was a technique workshop focused on making a doll face. Students learned how to do basic needle-sculpting, draw and colour a face on a cloth head. They covered basic face proportions and practice drawing faces on paper before starting on the head. Then, they learned to cover the face using acrylic paints, gel pens, markers, chalk, and coloured pencils. Arley Berryhill comes to doll making from studies in fashion history, design, costume and make-up, and a career in costuming and theatre. He has won several awards and has been published in magazines including Art Doll Quarterly. His beaded pieces have been shown in Seattle's art galleries. Arley lives in Las Vegas and works making and maintaining costumes for hotel shows. He takes great pleasure in teaching doll making and embellishment techniques. |
