Rosebud Sprite 16DW
Wendy Rinehart (CDAA) Scarborough, Ontario - www.artdollguild.net
Thursday, May 10 - 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Students learned to work with paper clay and create an 8 inch tall Rosebud Sprite in this 1 day class that is designed especially for the beginner. They learned how to adhere paper clay to a wire armature, solve cracking problems and perfect their sanding techniques. As well, Wendy demonstrated how to create simplified body shapes together with the technique of applying 3-dimensional vines prior to painting the doll. Wendy provided examples of different poses as well as samples which illustrated how versatile this medium is for making those hard to find accessories for creations such as swords, a wizard's staff, rocks, mushrooms, tree stumps, etc. Wendy Rinehart is a trained Graphic and Fine Artist. She has had dolls in numerous magazines including the cover for Sears Canada Catalogue. Wendy has received 3 nominations for the Doll Magazine, Diamond Awards of Excellence awards and has won many awards at the CDAA Celebration conference. She is also a member of the Creative Doll Artists and the Professional Doll Makers Art Guild in which she has Master Doll Maker standing. Wendy believes that doll artists should never stop learning and her teaching goal is to inspire others. |
