Messengers & Storytellers 09TDW
Dayle Doroshow Fort Bragg, California., U.S.A. - www.dayledoroshow.com
Friday - Saturday, May 11-12 - 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Students created figures of polymer clay using unique surface designs of collaged sheets of clay, millefiore and mokume gane and rich embellishments of beads, fibres and their personal treasures. Their inspiration came from earlier cultures and also from easy whimsical designs they collaged from 2-dimensional imagery - a fun way to work in order to stimulate new ideas! Doors, windows, hiding places were explored as part of the design. The 'messengers' can have secret places to hide a message or object, the 'storytellers' can house a small book and both can incorporate removable jewellery. This class gave fresh visions and opened new possibilities to incorporate into everyone's work! Dayle Doroshow, an outstanding polymer artist, trained in traditional ceramics in NYC and sold her pottery in Greenwich Village. Today she is at the cutting edge of innovative polymer clay art and her jewellery, home décor items, spirit and art dolls and handcrafted books can be found in galleries and art shows all along the west coast. Dayle has a busy teaching schedule, which includes the US, Canada, Mexico and France. She loves sharing her creative spirit with others and students clamour to attend her classes. |
