Garden Party 13TDW
Annie Hesse Richmond, Kentucky, U.S.A. - www.anniedolls.com
Friday - Saturday, May 11-12 - 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Students joined Annie for a wonderful 2 day workshop to create a unique beaded figure. On day one, they beaded the face for their own very individual doll. On day 2 students focused on creating the figure, dressing the figure using draping and wrapping techniques, adding the face and wild hair for which Annie is famous. Finally they embellished their amazing piece. This class was designed so that students could take both days and finish their doll. After completing university, Annie Hesse dabbled in a variety of art forms. She made her mark in the field of contemporary basketry, both teaching and creating. Her work is included in many private and corporate collections. In the late 1980's her focus turned to creating figures. She has been the subject of numerous magazine and newspaper articles. She can be seen in Art Doll Quarterly (Spring 2006), Susanna Oroyan's and two of Patti Culea's books and in Martha LeVan's book. Currently, Anne is collaborating with Patti Culea and Laura McCabe in co-authoring , Beading for Cloth Dolls, due out in the spring of 2007. |
