Creative Cloth Doll Design from Vision to Reality 24TDW
Peggy Wilson (CDAA) Ashton, Ontario

Friday - Saturday, May 11-12 - 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Students were guided through the process of creating their own vision of a figure. By analyzing all the elements required and moving on to the drafting of a proportional pattern, machine sewing, stuffing, needle sculpting, wiring and addressing face painting, hair, costuming and staging, they learned how to take their vision all the way to reality.

Peggy Wilson has been a member of the Ottawa doll club, All Dolled Up, for five years and a member of CDAA for 4 years. She has an established reputation as a teacher, mentor and award winning doll artist. Through a personal study of doll making together with experience in the design and development of a wide variety of construction techniques, Peggy continues to explore and meet new challenges. The range of her teaching includes skill development lessons in pattern design, armatures, face and body sculpting and face painting. Devoted to the infinite opportunities open to all doll artists, Peggy shares her talents in order to encourage new recruits as well as tutor those who strive to improve their craft. Peggy's work resides in private collections across Canada, USA, Japan, Indonesia and Australia. She presently teaches introductory classes and advanced workshops in her studio near Ashton, Ontario.
